We’ve lost a legend in Skydiving this past Sunday Sept. 13 with the passing of Wes Rich. Wes, a long time skydiver, was known throughout the world for his craft of building custom camera helmets, mounts and enclosures.
His CCM (Cranial Camera Mount) was worn by some of the best in the business and for those who don’t know, it was a custom camera platform that was built on a mold of the users head. These one of a kind works took weeks to complete, but when finished, showcased some of the finest workmanship and quality that was unmatched by anyone else. |

We at Sky Systems were fortunate enough to have a close working relationship with Wes both in business and in friendship. Wes worked with us to make the Vapor WES PRO, which fittingly was named after him, and worked with us numerous times on custom mounts and cases. But best of all, Wes was always there when we needed advice. Although, set in his ways, Wes had a plethora of knowledge that he would gladly share with anyone interested.
Sky Systems will continue to keep Wes’ legacy alive with our Vapor WES PRO camera helmet to honor the man that gave us so much. We urge anyone who has never seen his work to browse his website and get a glimpse into who he was. Wes created a niche in the skydiving world with his work and now there is only a void. |
