Here it is guys and gals! We would like to address one of SkySystems most common service issues, the Oxygn visor in 3 parts. (1) The helmet was designed years ago before freeflying, sitflying, etc. Belly flying is the only recommended position for best use of the Oxygn. Our NEW Genesis helmet is coming soon to satisfy current flight styles. (2) The visors and helmet have been around a long time and have been through several revisions and manufacturing changes. As SkySystems has done it’s best to make the replacement visors one standard size, each may require some slight manipulation and diligence to work best. Please be patient, read all instructions and contact us for help. (3) The ratchets should first be installed in the lens, right and left respectively as you are wearing it, springs facing the nose. As the little retaining clips on the ratchet should be tight fitting through the square opening of the lens, you may use the sideplate to help depress the moving clip on each ratchet. Insert the non-moving clip first, then the moving side until it “clicks” into the sqaure hole. Repeat on other side. Place one side of ratchet (installed in lens) into helmet shell and cover with sideplate, holding in place with fingers. Install screws to comfortably hold ratchet in place. Repeat on opposite side. Once in place, tighten the screws down on the sideplates to a firm stop. Do not over-tighten. If the lens is too snug, you may apply a small amount of lubricant, such a slip balm, to the upper trim of the visor, helping the visor slip over the edge of the helmet. Wipe off any excess. If the lens is very tight, the square hole in the lens, or both holes, may need a slight modification. Trim off a little bit of the rear edge of the hole. This can be done with box cutter/razor blade. This modification will allow the visor to slide forward just slightly to overcome the eyebrow lip of the shell. Of course, SkySystems will perform any of the necessary actions here at our facility in DeLand, Florida free of charge and we apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for choosing SkySystems. Blue Skies!
